Dividing Shasta Daisies

Mesquite, TX

DFW, TX area:
I've successfully divided perennials before but typically, they've always been dormant (early Spring before leaf out). I now have a nice patch of Shasta Daisies that I'd like to divide but they never seem to go dormant and have stayed green all through the last two winters. So... divide at the same time/season one normally would or is this one of the plants that you can divide about anytime barring unseasonable or harsh conditions?
I'd appreciate any tips/opinions and thanks for reading my question.

As soon as they quit blooming in the fall you divide the clumps, needs to be done every other year, transplant immediately to their new spot. BE EXTREMELY careful of the roots as that can doom you to start with. If there are dying spots in the clump or unhealthy plants you need to dispose of those. Can be done in spring, but fall is best because you will see the growth of the transplants better in Fall, dont do in the summer.

I always give my daisy transplants a little bone meal (not too much, just a sprinkling) in their new hole. Well scratched in. They seem to like that.

Thank you for the information Kittriana and Terri.
We received 3.5" of rain earlier this week so I'm just waiting for the bed to dry out enough to do the divisions and transplanting.
