Does anyone recognize this? Don't know if I planted it or not.Growing in sunny spot. It is about a foot tall. No blooms yet.

That totally looks like patchouli to me! Do the leaves smell if you crush them?

I went out to crush them and weirdly the first one had a vaguely sweet version of patouli , then all the others didn't have any scent. ???

Try again in the morning. If it is in the sun, essential oils weaken during the day (or so I've read). I tried looking to see if it could be a "relative" by searching the genus. Nothing looks close. Oh well, we just have to accept life's mysteries sometimes!
