swarming ants or termites. would need to see a close up for a positive id.
Far more likely to be termites than ants - probably should schedule an inspection just to be safe...
Save bugs or wings if possible for inspector. But they are often totally gone the next day.
Afraid it's too late for that Sally. That was a year and a half ago. But, I should have things looked at I guess.
You might start by digging into the soil outside that wall. We had termites, and could find them in the soil outside also. THere are bait systems you can buy for home use.
Just get an exterminator and get the house treated if it needs it. Get the Sentricon package (bait stations) for future monitoring. We had termites earlier this year that were already in the basement prior to getting the bait stations. They came in and drilled holes in the floor, poured the termiticide in the holes and then added a sealer to cover the holes and this was included in the termite contract.
It is well worth the initial cost and the quarterly inspections (of the bait stations) for peace of mind.
