Maybe it is new but a Google search doesn't show any begonia that looks like this (most are tuberous).

It looks very similar to Art Hodes though. A couple of other lookalikes are Boomer and Morocco.

The more I learn about begonias, the less I know. The one thing I have learned is that each grower names his/her own plants, even when they look exactly like someone else's.

You need to check out each grower separately, i.e., Logee's, Taylor's, Booman's and others. Since most rex begonias have the same needs, the only differences will be size and possibly bloom or dormancy time. I'll bet it is close to its lookalikes.

The other characteristic that makes it difficult to ID from a photo is that you cannot tell if it is smooth or hairy. Many of my plants have different foliage depending on the time of year and the amount of available light and humidity.
