Can you set Grodan Cubes on a capillary mat?

I recently ordered some Grodan rockwool cubes to start seeds and cuttings in and was wondering if anyone has tried watering them by setting them on top of a capillary mat? If so, can you put the nutrients/fertilizer in the water reservoire?
