Hi everyone,
As I live in Fukuoka,Japan, it may be a challenge to ID this bird. I could not find it in my Birds of Japan guide. A bit bigger than a warbler. Yesterday, I was scolded by a pair. One of them had a bug in it's beak, so I assumed their nest was nearby. Today I went back to the same place, and the same pair began scolding me again. This time I had my camera and I got a few satisfactory shots. If you can tell me what species, then that would be great!
By the way, Kawasemi is Japanese for the Common Kingfisher. One of my favorites here in Japan. I took these pics with a Panasonic fz200 which I bought recently, so I am still learning how to use it.
Thanks very much, kawasemi
CLOSED: what bird?
I think a Red-billed Leiothrix
Thank you so much, DonnaB May I ask how you identified this bird?
googled Birds of Japan and looked at the links that had pictures and descriptions.
I looked at pics first hoping to find one that looked similar and did but not quite. I clicked the pic which gave me link for this. Upon reading description and seeing other variation pics of the birds I found I was correct.
