Do u grow weigella in Houston?
Hi Nery, I dont know anyone who grows it. There are not a lot of purple shrubs to choose from, for sure. My folks had the regular weigelia when I was growing up and it is a very dependable plant.
Hiya Miss Marty! don't get me wrong, I love loropetalum but I have a row of them, plus one that has grown into a small tree. Just wished I could find something else in purple. I never thought that I could grow weigela but more and more I see that growers claim it is hardy to z9 so thought I'd stop here and find out if anybody actually grew it. I guess I'd better keep looking...
Hi, Nery, I was at Lowes today and saw a plant you might like. It was called Black Diamond crepe myrtle. The foliage was dark purple and the flowers red. Check it out. They were gorgeous.
Hey girl, I'm back in Houston... It needs a cooler climate. Rj
Randy!!!!! How nice to hear from you.
