Haven't seen this bird before today and I don't even have a guess as to what it is. It was eating seeds, along with house sparrows, in my backyard in Virginia. The last photo is maybe of a male and female? Sorry about the quality of the photos (taken with a birdcam). Thank you for any help!
Need ID help please
Brown-headed Cowbird.
First two, and the right bird in the third, are a subadult male near the end of moult from juvenile to adult plumage.
Left bird in the third, is also a subadult male, but a bit younger, still mostly in juvenile plumage with just the first few black adult feathers appearing.
Resin
Thanks Resin. Was hoping I spotted a new backyard visitor. You are really amazing with all your knowledge of birds and plants/trees. I'm so happy you are here to answer our questions. : )
