I've decided to add swails to an area that loses a lot of top soil. Bonus = reducing the amount of lawn we have to maintain. Here are photos that show the trenches. We have filled the trenches with wood mulch, and the next step will be planting groundcovers along the berms, and then buckwheat to crowd out remaining grass.
