I am coveting the red spider lily I left behind in my ex's yard, it has popped up and bloomed again. I searched, Eden's blooms has them for .88 per bulb in a lot of 20. I could do 20. Are they reliable?
I did well will Burgess but they do not have the lily selection
edens blooms - good vendor?
Since you are in Texas, there are a lot of choices for the Lycoris or Red Spider Lily since it is native for us...you may wish to post for trading with someone...
Eden's Blooms varies in their service a bit...but $.88 per bulb is cheap. I suspect they are first year bulbs so do not expect blooms for a year or so...
Southern Bulbs is a bit more expensive, but he sells the top-size for current or first year blooms.
I don't mind if it takes a while. I've been missing that spider lily for 12 years, it just bloomed again and he cut the flower for my daughter to take to work. She put it on Facebook.....covet covet covet
I checked the trades, most want, not many haves, non in Texas. I'll get them going and have some to trade. Going to try to get more of my summer snowflakes back from the ex for trade too.

Good Luck...
Gypsi, I used to have some Red Spider lilies, but I haven't seen them for a while, if they show up I will certainly save one for you.
Thank you Josephine, but I was thinking of ordering about 50. They are 0.88 apiece. The way these beauties play hide and seek I need some volume! and I have a grown daughter who is a lily fan, and the youngest daughter just became one. Between all our yards I have a couple of acres to play with, lol
Gypsi, I just bought from Edens Blooms, once was for red and yellow spider lilies and they threw in a few bulbs of something else, can't remember and can't leave the Aggie game on tv right now. The second time I ordered some Naked Ladies in both pink and red. They were advertised as small and would not bloom for a while, and they are,, but very healthy with good roots. Some of the spiders were small but some are fairly large.
I was on a hunt for the spider lilies after seeing a couple at an old house that they were demolishing but wouldn't let me dig them up. I remembered them from my granny's garden and I was major coveting, so I understand.
I have them all in pots till they get larger so hopefully I won't lose track of them.
Thank you Joy for the review. I will order from Eden's blooms and try them out.
Gypsi I have a few of these if you want to pay postage.
:)
I don't mind paying postage. I looked at what I wanted to order, and my bank account, and postponed the order.
I am glad I caught you before you ordered. When you are ready send me a dmail and we can work out the details. I believe you are looking for red as that is what I have. I wish I had yellow but I don't :( The ones I will send you are blooming size or very close to it.
I want to sell some but just haven't had the time.
Sandy, in the spring, if my yellows have multiplied, I will be happy to share some with you at the RU.
Thanks Joy I would love that :)
