Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

Good morning farmers. The sunrise was spectacular! It's frosty, 27* and NO WIND today! Yesterday it blew most of the day and was so cold I didn't get much done outside and the high temp was about 40*. It felt more like 20. This morning I see about a dozen Canadian geese on the stock pond. I wish the pond was closer to the house but I enjoy it from almost a quarter mile away. The binocculars are kept on the windowsill so I can see what is new down there. Tomorrow I will be playing all day, going to Payette, Idaho to meet Ponditis. We plan to visit greenhouses, maybe some thrift stores, have lunch probably in a seafood place and of course I've gotta see her pond, plants and critters. Then I will try to get home to do chores before dark, (care to take bets?) or more likely by flashlite. Today there is plenty do do here and without wind I can haul some compost for the flower bed, and maybe get the bulbs planted. I have a thermometer in the new compost pile, looks like about 100* this morning but that isn't near the center, it just gives me an idea of whether it is cooling down, so I will be turning it in the next few days to get more air into the pile and it should heat up again. I can do part of it with the bucket on the tractor, the rest is by hand. I hope all of you have a great day, remember to count your blessings.
