Where are all the honey bees this year?

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

I have huge Lantana bushes and every year I have more seeds than I want. I try to cut them off when they are still green to keep from having many more plants. This year 99% of the blooms do not turn into seeds. I am not totally complaining but I love my bees. Any ideas?

Thanks

The bees are scarce around here too. I only saw one honey bee the last time our Texas sage bloomed. Last year we had dozens of bees on it.

I have a normal amount here.

I have dozens of bees visiting my Autumn Joy Sedum. Too many drown in our pool. I try to net them out and let them dry off when I see them.

I pray they are back next year. I know I don't want all the lantana seeds but do want all the other plants I have seeds

they are over at my house on the Queens Wreath Vine. I looked out today and very cluster of blooms had 1 or two bees and I have a really big QWV! It reassured me a little bit. There is a Vermont Representative to the Congress that is sponsoring a bill to stop the use of pesticides that harm bees until further study is done. There is a petition on Move-On.org to gather support for him.

They are swarming at my house! I am seeing most of them on salvia coccinea, but they also visit porterweed, mist flower, lantana, and salvia greggi. I am seeing a lot of the bigger bees too. I guess they are variable around the area.

Hopefully they will be back soon in the other areas of the state.

I too have a ample amount of bees. It may be the drought conditions in some areas, I know in years past I have them lighting on my lilly pads to get water before I put in a water feature that has places they can light and get water.

Please do all that you can in your communities to stop the use of GMOs, chemical pesticides and herbicides(RoundUp being the most prevalent and vinegar works just as well) . There are no accidents in nature and so many un-harmful ways of dealing with plant problems. The EPA is paid off by lobbyists.

Go to MoveOn.org and sign that petition. It lets people know you care about bees. (He is in the National Congress so we are talking about a federal law, not just a state law.

I just signed and posted it on my Facebook. I have some kind of hornet and wasps on my Wild Poinsettia but my Lantana is not making many seeds at all. The dead bloom just shrivels up and falls off. Don't get me wrong it is much less work for me to try to pick the majority of green seeds to stop them from making more Lantana but I love my bees.
