E. & Central TX RU, Saturday Oct. 19, Hempstead, R U Coming?

September is here and it is almost time for our fourth Round Up at Lonesome Pine Farm in Hempstead, TX. Dave and I love hosting this event, and spending time with all the great folks that come out. We have lots of animals to pet and feed as well as a pond which can be fished.

Saturday October 19 2013, starting around 10 a.m. As always you are welcome earlier but we might have you help with chores.

We can lunch around noon.

I will send directions to the farm closer to the date. Please let those who might not visit our forum about our RU. We are a friendly group, and it would be great to add some more new faces.
We will have a fun garden item door prize give away. Bring a garden related item, valued between $5 and $10, and take home something new.

We do have a large (10 x 20 plus wings) canopy as well as our big porch if the weather gets dicey. Bring a chair, wear comfy clothes, and shoes that can get dirty.

David and I won't be there as he has to be in Baltimore on Oct 18 for his divorce to be final. I think we will be getting married on Oct 21 in Maryland. Want to have a reception when we get back but not sure as of yet. My DGDs birthdays are Oct 8 and Oct 13. My youngest DGD wanted us married on her birthday but told her divorce wouldn't be over but we could wait a year and she said no. She didn't want us to marry on Halloween as she says that is unlucky. So I added their dates together and the 21st it is.

Have fun for us. Anyone whom has plants for me can give them to Smockette please.

OH CRAP. I'll be volunteering for a huge fundraiser that day. :( I could make the next day or the following weekend?

Ok guys, I am very torn about this RU. I let others choose this weekend based on their schedules and now more are saying they can't make it. I can easily shift the date one weekend earlier, Saturday October 12, or Sunday October 13. Or I can go into November and do the 9th or 10th. The problem is that I am getting no feedback. I will shoot this out to everyone in a blast and in the other threads to see if we can maybe work a better date.

All I need is a firm date if you guys want tater salad, any day is fine, but in a pinch I can always chunk stuff in a mailbox...

All right, I have gone over the few answers I got to my emails, and here are the results.

Most folks nixed Sundays, oct. 13 got 5 votes, oct. 19 got 6 votes with the biggest concern being that Dallas has their RU on the next day. Nov. 9 got 7 votes.

Anyway I plan, not everyone can come, and I haven't heard from a lot of people who regularly come to our RU.

(Big inhale of breath) I vote we scrap the 19, and move ours to November. Maybe some of the Dallas people will try and come.

Let me know, especially if you haven't told me, and I will make any adjustments to our threads.

Thanks Sheila, I have already sent a message to admin, although I wasn't sure what topic it was. How can I change the title? Or are you saying to make another thread and then ask them to delete the current one?

They will get the message. I am sure they will just make a change for you. But only "IF" for some reason they can't change the title, you can ask them to close that one so it can't receive new posts; then put in a new thread.
The first option is worth waiting on an answer.
