Hello Alda;; Did you get any of these at all ? A very quiet thread .., All I have is the common white with the rose eye , But I could cross pollinate a few and save you a few seeds when the weather and plant allows .
Only wondering

I'd love to see a picture of what the seeds look like for the rose of sharon. Does anyone know what they look like? I have a double lavender rose of sharon and always looking out for seeds when the blooms dry up but have not yet seen anything that looks like seeds in the spent bloom.
But i did have a seedling growing down underneath one of my mature bushes and just last week I dug it up and gave it to my neighbors to plant in their yard.
It just came up by it's self and it was easy to dig up the whole root came up and the seedling was about a foot tall.
So obvious I do get seeds because a seed had to drop down to the ground for me to have a seedling grow but I have no idea what they look like or how big they are wish I did I would be harvesting them. My bush is in bloom right now and my son has a more of a rosey pink double at his house.

Hello, I would love 2 or 3 cuttinhgs from the pink double.Let me know how much postage and your address and I will send it up front Or I will trade with you, I have white/red center, purple/red center and orchid. It's been real hot & dry this year so my plants have suffered. Thanks, alday These are all singles

alday are they hard or easy to root and what do you do to root them? I have tried putting them in water to root and it didn't work.

Hi ryguy, For me they are easy. I just cut at an angle, apply hormone powder and stick into a foot tub of potting soil. I leave in the tub until spring, they will begin to get leaves, then I will put wherever I need something. Good luck, alda

scbuttercup is this the one you have http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/48596/ ?
This is the one I think I have at least it looks just like it and are they shoots or do you think that the bush put out seeds and they are seedlings.
Have you ever seen seed pods on your bush.
I am still looking to find seed pods on mine and haven't seen any but I did dig up one seedling this summer and gave it to my neighbor but I know that this was not connected to the roots of the main bush so am assuming that it grew from a seed but still haven't seen seed pods if I'm looking for the right thing.

scbuttercup, I am most interested. Can you dig up a few with roots attached? If not, can you send a few cuttings? Let me know and I will send postage. alda
