Did you find this in the forest or buy it somewhere? Looks similar to a Philippine species which is used in a lot of hybrids.

I sent your picture to a very knowledgeable person (Charles Jaros) and he thinks it may be U549 found by Rekha Morris in India. This may be a species but then it again it may not be.

Someone gave it to me as an ornemental plant coming from his garden
I thought it was the cultivar of an hybrid.
Looks like to a photo from A.B. Graf 's Exotica page 178 ( third edition ) called Begonia ' Gloire de Jouy ' ( rex x incarnata ).
Do you have this color cyclopedia ?
