This creature is so tiny that I didn't notice his "Are you my mother?" relationship to the salvia blossom till I pulled him up on my computer.

Really gorgeous moth and salvia blossoms are food for its caterpillars. I think mine showed up in my yard because I planted several salvias to attract butterflies. I love your blue salvia. It should attract lots of butterflies and some moths this fall.
You should add one of your images to DG guide for this species.
