What's your favorite thing to do with old green beans?

There comes a time every summer when no matter how thoroughly I harvest, when I return from a week long absence, I have a ton of old green beans. The kind where the beans inside have begun to make serious bumps. There's still life in the plants, so I don't want to let them ripen all the way for shelley beans. What do you folks do with such beans?
