Good Morning!
I have been reading your forum for a long while have not participated much. I retired a year ago and have been investigating bird watching cameras (Like a trail cam), do you have an opinion on these? Any special brand you could suggest? I know that we all have favorites and ones that we really prefer, I am in no way looking to start a debate, just information for me to do some research on which camera I would really like. I thought this would be one of the best places I could go to get opinions. This is the one I am looking at right now.

Thank you so much for any help.

Bird Watching Camera
Hi Candy,
There's a perennial thread in the Bird Watching forum on cameras. Mrs_Ed just started a new page a few days ago as the last one had become very long.
No one else has posted yet (but eventually will) and it's another great place to post your questions or ask for opinions about cameras. Lots of people in the past have decided on cameras based on help they got in this thread.

Edited to say: I forgot to mention, several other members have Wingscapes cameras. I don't know how many have the time-lapse types, but this would be a great thread to find out that info as well.

I have the wingscapes 2.0, which combines the time lapse and sensor camera in one, along with a flash. From what I understand, they aren't making this one any more because a new version is coming out on the market. this is the third camera I have had. I messed up the first one by allowing it to fall in the stream. d'oh. The second one didn't work right and the company sent me a new one. I love, love, love this camera, I would probably love others as well. I use it to monitor migrant activity in the stream as well as nesting activity. I just recently used it as time lapse for a new patio installation.

Thank you so much for the reply. I am also sorry that I am so slow replying. I ended getting a Bushnell 8mp trail cam, my son helped me pick one out. I really was not concerned about night vision and he said "but what if you get a flying squirrel, or some other night visitor, you wont know. I have not received it yet, it should be here any day. I will be posting my pictures soon, and again, thank you very much.

Good luck with your new camera!! And if you get a chance, please tell us all about it. I bet other members would be interested as well.
You can post on Mrs_Ed's thread using the above link.
