Any one in z9 or above want

Houston Heights, TX(Zone 9a)

white orchid tree (bauhinia)? I have about a dozen I grew from seed. If you live close enough for us to meet and transfer to you, it would be best. I dont know about shipping them. They are 6-8 inches tall and they grow pretty fast. Mine pictured below froze to the ground (because it was so ;young) in 2009. It came back from the root and it was gorgeous this Spring. I cant grow dogwood apparently so this is my plan B.

Marty, if you don't mind saving one for me, you can bring it at the fall swap, I could keep mine potted, they are do pretty.

Houston Heights, TX(Zone 9a)

Livingston, TX(Zone 8b)

I would love one and so would my neighbor. How close are you to pearland? My daughter comes from Livingston to Pearland everyday.

Houston Heights, TX(Zone 9a)

I am just inside the 610 Loop at I-45. Does she come in on 45 or 59?

Livingston, TX(Zone 8b)

I'm not sure I will ask her tomorrow.

Houston Heights, TX(Zone 9a)

I know we can work something out. Just let me know.

Livingston, TX(Zone 8b)

Ok I'll let you know tomorrow. Thank you!

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Thank you Marty, you are a sweetheart.

Fulshear, TX(Zone 9b)

Beautiful! How old are yours? I have purple/pink and red ones that are about 3 years old but they haven't bloomed yet.

Houston Heights, TX(Zone 9a)

It was a year old in 2009 and about 1 inch diameter when it froze to the ground. So I guess mine is about 5 now.

Livingston, TX(Zone 8b)

ok she takes the 59.

Houston Heights, TX(Zone 9a)

Jokenna, I work in Kingwood almost right on 59. About what time each day does she come thru Kingwood?

Livingston, TX(Zone 8b)

Different times today she has to be in Pearland at 4 and leave at 7:30pm. I will ask here about tomorrow. I know it's early on Thurs.
If you look at my have list I could send you something.

Fort Worth, TX

I am in zone 8, but I sure do like the photo! And I'll bet it smells just wonderful and the bees would adore it. What kind of water requirements? I can rig a warm place but I cannot break a drought. If I got one I would have to plant around fall roundup time, so maybe there would be rain.

So beautiful! I'd love to have one if you'll save it for me for the RU. I'd pot it up and lug it in & out. (Or the hubby will!)

(Joy) Hempstead, TX(Zone 8b)

Marty, think it would do here? Bring me one please to our fall RU.

Houston Heights, TX(Zone 9a)

Ok, Gypsi, mine did not notice the drought and I never watered it even once. It might have got some water when I watered a bed nearby. The drought year, it did not have as many blooms as this year when we got some spring rain.
Stephanie, gypsi and Joy, I will put yours along side Josephine's and bring to RU.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Thank you, Marty.

A lot of people in my area have these trees and I noticed in 2009 that their large trees got nipped a bit but 3-4" diameter trees did not die. Mine was just too young. Since it had good roots it came back very quickly.

Thanks
