white orchid trees (bauhinia)

Houston Heights, TX(Zone 9a)

I have a couple dozen 6-8 inch tall trees I grew from seed if anyone is interested. Keep in mind that these are zone 9 and above. I find it a good substitute for the white dogwood which I miss so much from my zone 8 childhood. I tried and tried to get dogwood to grow. No Luck. This year my white bauhinia bloomed for over a month in the spring. The young tree was covered with beautiful blooms.

I would love a couple of your bauhinia seedlings. Let me know if I have anything you'd be interested in as a trade. Thanks!

Chris or alex, I would love to have a firecracker or bonfire begonia. There are some photos of it over on the container forum. If either of you have it I would love to trade for that.

I can send cuttings! Your timing is good, because it goes dormant for the winter. So, if you can get these bits rooted and off to a good start, you'll get them established before they go to sleep for a while :-) Let me know your mailing address and I'll post them off to you. Thanks!

I received the cuttings today Monday. Ive edited my address off of this thread and suggest you do the same. Next time, go to D mail to send address. I have yours boxed and ready to go out tomorrow but I will Dmail ;you to let you know they are indeed in the mail. The cuttings look a little worse for the wear but I think they will be OK.
