Growing up in Alabama, my great-aunt had a pot of these on her backporch for many decades and they always enthralled me when they burst into bloom after a heavy summer rain. Although they must be wintered inside in New England, the joy of them this time of year is just grand!
I used to have rain lilies, too....they are magical. I gave some away to a friend, but one year, neither of us brought them inside for the winter.......
They are very pretty indeed!
