It's full of weeds and dangerous plants. Where can I buy some good, long handled hemostats?
Christmas cholla is prickly and getting large.
These fame flowers seeded themselves here. Guess my fear of not having them come back is unfounded.

Well the ones with the pink blooms are pretty. Me, I'd get some double layer leather gloves and a shovel, BUT I am not a prickly thing afficionado.
I just want to weed it for now.
They have a variety of hemostats on Amazon for around $10 or less. I bought some a few months back after getting tired of picking cactus thorns out of my hands. :)
I am ordering some tomorrow. Do they pull small weeds well.
Can you spot spray the weeds with vinegar, or are you afraid it will kill the other plants, too?
No I wouldn't risk killing whats left there.
Sort of an after thought on this thread but I thought maybe a pair of those long garden gloves that are for working with thorny roses might work to protect your hands and arms.
Here is an example though these seem thick and pricey.

I bet a search would come up with something more suitable.
Did you get the hemostats? Did they work?

How did it work out for you? I happen to be an "aficionado" of most things prickly and poisonous. I wandered over to this forum from cacti/succulents. The Chollas can be a nightmare.
Wish I had read this thread sooner. I could have been helpful.

P.S.
Stunning Agave. Very nice.
I swear by the hemostats. In fact, a few months ago my daughter had to get stitches in her foot. While they were showing her the tools they would use, she pointed out that the hemostats are what I use for cactuses and they let me keep them when they were done. :)
I just ordered them so I will let you know. After the rain and cool weather I will have a lot of weeds to use them on!
Here is another option. I have seen these used in ear canals and wonder if they would be strong enough to pull weeds. The longest on is 8 inches.

Ear canals! My heavens! Had something with wings try to get in my ear the other day. I can only imagine!
Those look really handy for those little, hard to reach weeds. I put river stones among my cactus to avoid unwanted growth. They work well, but needless to say aren't fool proof. I'm leaving my prickly friends alone until Spring.....
