I couldn't find a match for this in my guide book.
It was hiding in the dark like a moth.
It was shaped like a Butterfly.
It was too big for a skipper - that is the end of a 2x4 it is on (an old 2x4 that really was 2x4).
I couldn't see any antennae.
Closest match I could find would be a Buckeye crossed with an Admiral.

It is a female, which has the lighter-colored band, and complicated ID.
