I brought my brug inside and placed it in a dark closet two weeks ago during the last cold spell, but we just put up a greenhouse last weekend and I'm wondering if it would be a problem if I moved it there now.
I'd also like to know where everyone orders from. I bought my first at a local nursery on sale this summer and having gotten hooked on this plant I'd like to have a few more.
Thanks in advance,
Carol
Two questions
Carol, try trading for brugs first, you will get much better ones! i have no experience with this but i am sure that brug would be much happier in your greenhouse...would probably put it in some shade first to lessen the shock.
Carol I thought I send you one. If I didn't I will. Let me know.
Carol, i could send you some cuttings for postage, but right now i am slow....
Carol, here are the places I have ordered from and the service I have received'
Logee's....plants.......3 week delivery and the plants were excellent and in good shape
Valley Growers....plants and seed several times....excellent quality and delivery within 1 week if paid by card or Paypal
Tonny Surrow etc.....recent order of cuttings and seed...
supposedly mailed today and,if so,that will be excellent service from Denmark.I mailed the order just over a week ago.
LeBon Jardenier....cuttings....delivery took about 10 weeks and required several e-mails to get a response.Cuttings were dipped in something resembling grafting wax....several of them will not make it.....never again. It's the total lack of response to emails that steam me!
jt, you just keep on impressing me!
Arlene,Thanks for that very impressive list you are sending me.I'll wear out the path to the mailbox.I've been hoping for a suav.pink!
I will have apackage heading your way in a couple of weeks.
cuttings are rooting now. Also some seedlings if you want them.
gone2seed - can I ask how you paid for the Surrow order?
Thanks - Liz
Georgiaredclay, you should know by now I wouldn't have said anything. The family lily meant alot to me by itself. If you want to send one let me know what the postage is for it.
Arlene, thanks for your advice. I'll give it a try. Would you mind if I sent you an email this weekend?
Gone2seed, thanks so much for the info. I had problems finding the site for Valley Growers when I searched. Would you let me know what the www. is? Please let us know how your order from Tonny Surrow etc arrives.
Thanks again!
Carol - Here's valleygrow http://valleygrow.com/
Liz....I sent them a personal check as instructed on the website.Apparently Tonny has some way of handling these.I usually send international money orders when ordering out of the country.NOTE postal mo's are not "international".I buy mine at the local 7-11 or Western Union.
Carol, email me. out of town thursday-friday, looks like it is going to be a drunken brawl funeral....might come home sooner...
jt, taking your money order advice. you are gonna have a lot of planting to do tomorrow!
gone2seed - so all I have to do is send him a personal check - saying US funds? I'll have to check with him - When I order from the US I write - US funds - they convert. This I'd be really impressed with if I sent a Canadian cheque marked US Funds. I'd be dazzled.
Liz,all I can say is that my check seemed to be ok with Tonny.Of course if he has a problem I will replace it with a money order. The order form did say a check was fine.
Try the Canadian cheque and see how it flys.
Thanks Poppysue! Why didn't I think of trying that? lol
Liz, I work in a Canadian Bank and the charges at this end can sometimes be awful. If they do accept your cheque, when it clears back through in Canada, some banks charge $25.00 handling fee because U.S. funds was written on a cheque meant for Canadian negotiable item. OR SOMETIMES it slips through at just Canadian funds. Hope its the lsat for you. Good luck and happy rooting
/Regards/Annie
Thanks Annie - surely NOT your bank! I've sent brugs to your branch! LOL
So where does one go to get Euros and etc money orders? I want to place some orders that only take International MOs. Are currency exchange places better or worse than banks?
Liz
