Love this plant. Have many but the problem is when I do get a nice older pot, full and looking good, it tends to fade quickly. If I repot each single growing piece, I do get nice new (but way smaller) plant. Is the secret to stay ahead of it and divide before it fills the pot? Gene
Alpinia Nutans care
Divide it only at the end of the growing season. Put it in pots large enough to last a few seasons. Make sure the soil is well drained, but has a lot of compost.
Thanks. They are house plants here. They seem to have no dormant period actually. I have decided that they do well until they fill the pot and then if not divided and repotted, the whole plant declines.
