I have been waiting since October for this day! My dark pink variety produced about 25 seeds and I planted several...we shall see what happens. I know they take time to reach maturity, but how rewarding it will be. I have 2 other varieties (yellow and white and light pink) in close proximity and plenty of pollinators around. I would be happy with more dark pink plants, but it will be really interesting to see what color the new plants will be.

Seed pod opened today!
Congrats on the ripen seedpods. Russell, it's a journey. Enjoy, it's your next phase; watching the seedlings emerge. I've a dark pink plummie, it was my very first. A beautiful, fragrant reliably bloomers in the garden. Will yours be planted permanently outdoor? Mine, I've to overwinter inside.
It's currently blooming, though it's become quite tall. This pic. was last year when it was near to eye level. Currently it's taller so I couldn't get a very good picture of the bloom.
I will keep them in pots for a good while and then decide where to go from there. The three I have planted in the ground are about 7 feet tall. One of them was planted by my parents about 15 years ago. I thought I lost it in 2011 when we had a pretty severe freeze, but it came back and is now the same size as the rest of my plants. I am still waiting on a bloom from that one, but the plant is looking great.
Take care and hope for a mild winter!

5 days after planting - 2 seedlings have emerged! The other seeds are swelling and look like they might be right behind. Too cool.

There is no doubt, you'll enjoy watching the seedling grows. First the cotyledons pair, then comes the true leaves. But most of all the sausage-like tiny tree. You'll enjoy watching the 'baby' grows.
