Spineless Cactus, Opuntia ellisiana. I have had this plant for at least five years and it finally bloomed.
It was magnificent, but only lasted one day, I hope it blooms again.
My Spineless Cactus Bloomed.
Very pretty!
I have something on my cactus that looks like the bud on your plant. Maybe mine will bloom too!
~C
Keep an eye on it, I almost missed mine, it opened up fast.
Pretty. I hope mine blooms but it is just a baby. So, it probably wont. Josephine is your plant in full sun or part sun?
Mine is in mostly light shade with a little bit of direct sun.
Thanks, I need to move mine into more shade.
That's so beautiful!!
Glad you were home and got that nice pic!
Yes, I almost missed it.
How pretty, Josephine!
Is this the one that has the tiny spines rather than the big ones? A friend gave me some cuttings to a "spineless" variety but it has hair-thin spines that are difficult to avoid (and harder to remove from my hands!).
It is supposed to be spineless but I have never tested it, I think you can handle this one without getting hurt.
That flower is worth it anyway!
Jo, is it a gift from a roundup or did you buy it ?
Someone at the Arlington Organic Gardening club gave it to me a few years back, it was just two little pads that looked like Mickey mouse ears.
I can give you some at the next swap, it roots very easily.
Beautiful!
Very Lovely Indeed!!!!
They will have more flowers with a little more sun.
Yep, I know, but that is really the only spot I can give it.
Beautiful. Looks like it enjoyed our recent rains? :-)
Carla
Thank you Carla, the rains have been wonderful for everything ans everyone.
