Butterfly Magnet

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

I got these cattail stakes to put in a raised bed at end of drive. Very dry and hot there and a long trek to reach and so.... yard art that I don't have to water!! Large boulder and blue river rock dry bed.... Some dragonflies on stakes a fish or two over the dry bed and a bottle tree. Juniper looking like seaweed...a few iris.....Needed something else for taller vertical interest and found these cattail s on EBAY. Did not realize the things were feeders.....so I filled with blue glass pebbles and blue river rock and clear chunks of tempered glass. Today first day out....the butterflies have covered all day - sometimes three at a time. And they don't fly away...what is it that keeps them there?
