Brug in Perth Australia

I was just wondering if any of y'all happen to be in the Perth Australia area. My Mom and I will be going to Perth in early March to visit my brother and was wondering what the Brug situation is like in Australia. I do realize I won't be able to bring back plants but I'm sure seeds would be fine.

Glory, you might be able to mail cuttings to yourself if you find some nice ones there.

I would!!!

The problem with mailing cuttings is customs.....I'm going to check and see if they will let cuttings go through customs....guess it's worth a try. When I live in Asia customs would open some but then others were left alone...it's hard to tell.

Any Australians out there?

Glory,
From what I understand, cuttings, seeds, etc can be sent from Australia to the USA. Torsten from our Brugmansia group is in that area of Australia if memory serves me. I would ask Torsten if you could visit to see some of his Brugmansia as I know they rely very heavily on seed grown Brugmansia in Australia. Torsten loves pink Brugmansia by the way....

Brugman,
I'll email him through the group...he is not listed in Toby's directory. Thanks for the info.

I am an expat Aust , been here for 2 1/2 years, I wish you luck in Australia with brugs and dats, there a restricted import, I sent my mother 2 for her birthday some months ago from a grower in Cairns, the stock was limited and the prices were steep. The botanical gardens may be worth a serch, they would probably be aware of any decent private collections. Rita

Our friend Glory passed away over two years ago. She was a great person and we all miss her terribly.
