Oops I got a Cryptanthus

Lake Stevens, WA(Zone 8a)

Hi experts! I never could keep Bromeliads alive, although I have tried a few times. I just got home from Sky Nursery near Seattle, where I bought some fancy succulents, which seem more up my alley (most allow me to neglect them). I got this gorgeous thing, assuming it was an aloe relative, but when I got home and looked it up it is some kind of Bromeliad. There is no species name on the label, just the genus. How do I take care of it?
Thanks for any advice you might have.

Looks like C. bivitattus but could be one of many hybrids too. As to culture, look here ---> http://www.bsi.org/new/frequently-asked-questions/

Basically, since Cryptanthus are terrestrials, treat them like a typical houseplant. Bright light but not direct sun, water when drying out, fertilize regularly.

Thanks Dave!
I am on vacation in Toronto to see a friend play in the World Frisbee Championships. I finally got internet and thought I'd check DG. How nice of you to tell me this, I will relax and treat it like my other ordinary houseplants. So far it is still alive.
