I took this picture out my kitchen window on Long Island. Can anyone tell me what it is? It is maybe 8 to 12 inches tall.

No but that is an awesome photo as well as a cool looking bird.
Eastern Screech Owl. You caught it with its ear tufts folded down, so it doesn't have the 'usual' appearance shown in most books.
