help lost all my pictures

hi all i did something real stupid lastnight. i wipped out my whole system. i was trying something and i used goback. well everything disappeared. i had to reinstall my whole computer startup and all. ok i don't know what i'm doing. is there anyway i can get all my pictures back i did not put them on a disk (stupid). i had at least 50 pictures in my album did i loose them all? i lost all my favorites but at least i can replace them. from now on i will save everything to cd as i download them from my camera
