Please help indentifying these insects.

These are tortoise beetles, leaf beetles in the subfamily Cassidinae, maybe the mottled tortoise beetle - http://davesgarden.com/guides/bf/go/1334/
These beetles appear to feed only on members of the morning glory family, and seldom cause any serious damage.
