Does anyone have...

Kennedy, NY(Zone 4a)

Any dahlia tubers they'd be willing to share? I'm only looking for 1 or two... I would like to see if I can grow these buggers, and don't want to waste a bunch. Thanks!

I have fifty of them started from seed - they are looking quite good.

Amanda, dahlias are really easy to start from seed. Start checking out your seed racks for the annual types. The flowers are smaller but what a show they can produce.

During the first growing season they'll develope underground tubers that can be dug and stored over the winter months and replanted the following spring in your climate zone. Plus you can save seed from them.

Also, WalMart has tubers for really inexpensive prices, altho I'm not sure if they've started putting them out yet in your area.
