I have 5 seedlings that I got from under a white tree last summer. The neighborhood is loaded with mostly bright multi-colored trees. They,re growing great, about a foot high and lots of leaves and ready for a third potting up. My questions are: 1, The trunks are thicker as they get higher and kind of thin and weak looking at the soil line and want to lean over. Is this normal or should I bury them a little deeper? 2, Three of them are a consistant green color but 2 are showing a lot of red on the leaf stems and 1 of those has it on the leaf edges. Is this an indicater of flower color or a nutrient imbalance?
Seedlings, 2 questions.
Seedlings with reddish foliage are usually going to be darker colors when they bloom.Red, dark pink, rainbow, etc. The stems being thinner should grow eventually too. They will have to get thicker as the plants grow woody.

Thanks for the reply. I like the deep colors.
I think thinning of seedlings at base has to do with over watering.
