What kind of light do they do best in? I have full blazing sun, dappled shade, and some shade with afternoon sun. Not sure where they'd do best.
Winecups
Full sun and dappled shade, I have some both ways, even one in almost all light shade and they all bloom fine.
Thank you!
I agree with Josephine. Mine have been here for 4 years now and they are pretty adaptable as far as light goes. They do sprawl less and put out more blooms in sun though. One thing they don't do well is compete for space. Mine look room to do their thing and resent being crowded.

Thanks, Cheryl! I've put them out in the full sun bed in an empty spot.
What are the ones called that look like Winecups but are Annuals?
There are annuals in that genus too and they are commonly called winecups also.
Ok those are the ones I love. My oldest son is mowing now. It's so nice bc his dad would mow over my flowers bc he knew it bothered me, a lot. Jess threatened to mow them over but then started laughing, he told me not to worry my flowers would be fine. He was right, it looks like a drunk was driving the mower but my flowers look great.
I have a couple of acres of them out in my fields which are full sun with no shade at all and they are very happy.
You lucky Lady, that is really wonderful.
They will come back, slowly, after being mowed but you're better off collecting the seeds than transplanting. They don't transplant very well.
I think I'm going to try seeds this fall since I've not had much luck transplanting in the past. If these take root, then I'll just multiply the pretty!
