Ordinarily I'd say Memorial Day weekend is too late, but this year I don't think so. I'm going to try to get the rest of the garden in today.
Anyone else getting a late start?
Vegetable garden going in - NOW
Not me, I've been harvesting & canning for 3 weeks now... The only things I plant late (by Mothers Day) is watermelon & okra.

Well in the spring I work ponds and bees, so I try to plant by March 5th, which did NOT work out well this year, since we were still having freezes up into April. So I'll throw seed in the ground and see. I will have tomatoes and peppers, they were started in the greenhouse in April and part are in the ground. Sweet potato starts aren't even here yet.
I haven't gotten any of my pepper plants planted and still have a few dwarf tomatoes to go. The temps have been so strange this year, even the tomatoes I got in on time are just starting to set fruit. I was planning on getting a lot done this weekend but it's so wet I can hardly get in either garden.
The soil temps were low so even the things I direct sowed took longer to germinate and were slow growing. I still have potatoes growing, crazy considering it's almost June in Tx.
Sow away you should be fine.
I have a jalapeno plant to get in the ground and I've not put in any okra or cukes.
I got the cukes in I'm going to make pickles this year! But they aren't growing really fast. My Eggplant look terrible after this rain, potatoes look great tho.
I need to do a second planting of LONG BEANS.
This year I want to be better on succession planting ... so more Long Beans for me.
Also, I might think in a month or so ... to seed more long beans in the tomatoes area ... By the end of June the tomatoes are almost done ... I am very good on trimming their trunk and this will make a perfect support for the LONG BEANS ... I might do that ...
These are my favorite LONG BEANS : http://www.rareseeds.com/chinese-red-noodle-bean/
Those beams look pretty cool! I'm still digging amenities in and seeing if I have room for the seed I bought already.... Luck!
Drthor- I wonder if your tomato season will be longer this year with the cooler temps? I've never had to replant pole or long beans, as long as I keep them picked they keep producing.
