CLOSED: HAVE: Peony for Postage

(Zone 7a)

I have a few plants coming up that need to be moved. They are not not big and one is about to bloom.

I would like to send all pieces in one box to one person. I believe they are Sarah Bernhardt...possibility they might not be. If you have something on your Have list of interest then we can swap plants instead of just sending me the postage. Paypal preferred so I can ship ASAP.

I recently purchased 2 Bartzella yellow Peonys from the Home Depot near to me in Fairfield, NJ. They were $62.00 each, They also had another yellow for slightly less, about $49.00. also another pink that I didn't get the name of. These were blooming and were in a 6 gallon pot. OF course you can buy small roots to grow on and save money, but they don't all live and even if they do it will take 4 more years before you can expect bloom. I don't know if your local Home Depot carries these Itoh Bartzellas but i'm telling you this because you seemed interested in the starter peonies i am offering as a trade. One more thing: you can take the seed pods from these mature plants and try raising the plants from seed. If you are interested in going down that long road I will send you some of the seeds from my Bartzella yellow peony. These are open polinated seeds hybridized with who knows what. and you would probably have to wait 6 years or more to see bloom, but they are yours if you want them. Al Fitzburgh

Hi Al,
Thanks...I have had good experiences with small pieces of peony....even tiny tiny pieces. I know about the wait...LOL. I just had this one bloom after 3 years.
It's "Sequestered Sunshine" It's a deeper yellow then I could capture in my picture. I have lots of Peony seeds...but I tried the fern leaf peony seeds without any luck and never tried again.
