My Aechmea nidularioides can into bloom today and much to my suprise the inflorenscence is not red, but orange. Pictures is not that great, the orange is pale, not as red as shows in the pic.

David ~ that is pretty. I wonder if the bloom color changes with lighting as the plants' foliage does. I have noticed that lately as I moved plants out of the greenhouse for summer. Colors are really starting to brighten with summer sunshine.
It has chaged, as the inflorescence has matured it has turned yellow.
