Taken this a.m. in Palo Alto, CA at the Community Gardens. Is this a California Towhee or a Dark-eyed Junco Juvenile? Or ...? Thanks.

I can see the resemblance, but I don't think it is - the 'green' in the tail is reflection from the green background. Green-tailed Towhee doesn't occur in Palo Alto other than as a passage migrant, and juveniles wouldn't be on migration yet. I'd go with a local-bred juvenile California Towhee.
