Here are some shots from the front garden, the Phlox pilosa is past now but it sure was beautiful. Now is the time for the Winecups and Coneflowers.
The Front Yard, Spring 2013.
Cooler weather seems to be goo d for them. Mine are lush too. It will be hard when it starts getting brutally hot. You have a lot of yellow columbine and my goodness they are lovely. I wish I had your space, I have run out. I do have the front yard but I am not sure how well that would go over with my husband.

Very nice. I love winecup.
Beautiful! What is the little blue salvia that you have?
The blue salvia is Mealy Blue sage it is small because it is in mostly shade.
Thank you Everybody, I am very happy with the results. I will have to cut things back soon to let the winecup take over.
How pretty!
Beautiful, Josephine!
Here I am celebrating a few Columbine blooms and you have a WHOLE landscape of them!! At least I can see what is possible. It's all so pretty. You should post your beautiful photos on the new Garden Showcase. Let people see those beautiful Texas natives.
Thank you Pattie and Marty, I do have a lot of Columbines many of them volunteers.
Yes, I should post them on the Garden Showcase, but if I remember right it is a little more complicated and time is usually short.
I will try to do it some time if time permits, I guess I have too many irons in the fire.
Josephine, your yard is beautiful as usual. Some day I will make a pilgrimage to see it in all its glory.
That would be great Carey, I hope you can make it some day.
I love wine cups also. None came up this year, but considering how late everything is maybe they still have time.
WOW!!! Just ... WOW!!!!!
Do you have sprinklers or drip lines or do you water yourself? I love what you have done with your lawn. I'm trying to talk myself into taking out the grass strip between the sidewalk and the street, and planting with low-water needs plants. Looking at your lovely photos really has put a bug in my bonnet now.
Carla
Hello and thank you Carla, I have three soaker hoses in the wraparound bed which is 5 feet wide, and I just use the sprinkler in the other beds when needed. No automatic watering here.
Thank you for the picture. I see them on other peoples land so I guess I may not get any this year. I'll put put more seeds in the fall. I have tons of Indian Blanket though.
