aristolochia for the pipevine ST

Houston Heights, TX(Zone 9a)

I received some plants at the RU and since they are very low growing, would all the lizards and anoles that I have, eat the larvae before they have a chance? Or, is it like other BF larvae, predators know not to eat the larvae for fear of getting sick?

It could be a little of both Marty, I do know that some survive, they are very prolific.

I figured tween the blue Jays, Cardinals, lizards and skinks I wouldnt have BF's grow to any size. Eggs everywhere, in spite of those 12" lizards out by the garden. Now if those leaffootted bugs would take a hint...Marty? I hope all your plants you requested of me were there? I can send seeds for fern leaf dill if you need...ours resprout 4x a year at least.

Yes, Kitt. I put the variegated vinca in a container grouping of an extra broccoli plant, some euphorbia diamond dust, and a white 4 o'clock. It's in a red clay pot. I think it's gonna look stunning when they all get a bit bigger and blend together. Will post a photo as soon as they are ready for their close-up! chuckle. Thanks for participating with us even tho you do so on the run. I still wish you had called someone that day at Arlington. You KNOW we would have got you and brought you back.

Thanks for the re-assurance, Josephine. I knew it had to work out some way or there would not be any PVST's!!!

I was worn out, my body is shaped more these days to 12 hrs sitting with my foot thru the floorboard than it is trying to stand, chuckle. It felt good to just relax, but I was thinking at you guys!
