Saw this on my way to galveston with a friend. I broke off a large piece and I am assuming because it looks like a succulent to let it dry over before I put into dirt. It has no leaves (right now?) I was told it was a boabab tree but searching the internet the bloom doesn't look the same or the way it is growing. It is huge so appears to have been planted between these 2 stores as decorative land scape. The internet says the boabab tree is rare? When I saw it I fell in love and had to have it.
Any help would be so appreciated. Thanks ahead of time.
ID please
I have no idea what it is but I can understand the part about falling in love with it that is a fantastic find
Thanks if I get back that way...if I remember exactly where it is I am going to get another large cutting to see if I can root some to trade :)
Post your pic on the cactus and succulant forum, they are likely to know what it is.
I put it on the plant ID forum and this is a Pseudobombax ellipticum.

I really love this and hope it roots :)
