Just wanted to share something interesting. I know bromeliads have flowers but I rarely think of them as similar to other flowers, you know? But to my great surprise, a hummingbird in my butterfly garden found my blooming bromeliad and sipped nectar from it. When I got close to the bromeliad, I saw ants on the tips of the flowers so I guess it must have some sweet nectar in there. Just thought this was rather unusual and wanted to share!
