Photos taken at Lafitte's Cove on Galveston Island, Texas Gulf Coast. There was another fallout due to the strong winds and cool weather.
There were several waterthrush at the water drip. Some people were calling them Louisiana and some were calling them Northern. One guy said both were present. I suspect that some of the color variation in the photos is due to the light conditions and white balance being off, but there did seem to be both whitish and yellowish birds present.
CLOSED: Which Waterthrush?
This is a Northern Waterthrush. The streaking is more bold, and this bird is not such a "lean built" bird as the Louisiana Waterthrush. nice pics!
Thanks much!
