Happy Friday, eveyone!
Well, my cold is finally subsiding and I almost feel human today! Crisp and cold here by the San Francisco Bay. Jacket weather! (Ok, it's going to be in the 70's, but in the San Joaquin, it'll be a tad warmer than that...) Cooled down pretty quick this year.
Saw a big old bull running with the cows and their calves on the way home last night. I'm guessing that that was not how the rancher planned it? Usually they don't rotate the bull out to the pasture near the highway - probably because many bovines have that "wandering cow" disease? And I've never seen any bulls running with the cows while they had babies at their sides... Anyway, it was funny to see the cows keep themselves between the bull and their babies. No one made any threatening moves, just all the ladies keeping an eye on things while the calves cavorted in sweet, inocent bliss.
Thank you, everyone, for you kind thoughts and words. Been needing all the warm & fuzzies I could get, lately. I guess we all do.
Lisa, 40# of tomatoes! Wow! Just how much salsa does that make? Sounds like you are enjoying all that work! It's wonderful to be employed doing stuff you enjoy. Have fun!
Glad to hear Itsy is doing well. Depending on Uncle Sam and the US Marines, hopefully we'll be able to move to the country in 2 years and I can have a horse (and some goats and some chickens and a few cows and frogs and dragon flies and fire flies and - and - and -). I'm thinking of seeing if they can teach a "getting older" someone some new tricks - may give myself riding lessons for Christmas and my BDay. ...and if I'm really nice, maybe they'll let me muck out stalls and take some of that old bedding home to my garden... hmmm. the wheels, they are a-spinning...
Take care, everyone. Many blessings and good thoughts to you.
