What other plants do you plant with your brugs

Saint Petersburg, FL(Zone 9b)

I have about 7 versicolor peach that are over 8'tall and another stand of brugs that range from 4' down to about a foot. would like to hear what other people plant among their brugs.I have some annuals like 4o'clocks and zennias planted and still trying to think of other plants that will look good with my brugs

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I asked about that on another forum, can't remember for the life of me which one. But got some great ideas, and one they didn't mention is the potato vine. I think the lime green and the blackie ones would look fabulous under the brugs!!.

With my brugs in the ground, I plant flowering Maple (abutilon), elephant ears, fire spike, butterfly ginger and some thunbergia erecta. It gives a very tropical look.
In the green house for the ones in pots, I plant vines in with the brugs (I use huge pots, #10,000 size) I will tuck my coleus and gingers around the sides too. The vines climb up the brugs and I don't have to worry about their stakes falling over.

Palmyra, VA(Zone 7a)

I let my passion vines climb all over my brugs.

Irish, i love the smell of 4 o'clocks, much better than brugs...i have volunteers everywhere, sages, scarlet milkweed, periwinkles, porterweed, mexican sunflowers, clero bungeii.. but i am not a normal gardener, i love wildflowers and confusion, there is nothing formal about my yard. a couple of buddleia, chaste tree, love that chaste tree!!! have a variegated one i added this summer. i literally have to bend over to get in close to a hybrid brug, like crawling in a jungle, makes me feel childish and great. i have old garden roses on two sides of my irregular brug border, maggie, mutabilis, golden showers, bermuda kathleen, smiths parrish. have a couple of brugs mixed in the banana/canna area (8 X 40), put a couple of papayas near them, they both have fruit on them. further out have lantanas, and ironweed, blanketflowers i hope will proliferate more next year, milkweeds. have much lime rock running through a foot or so under the surface, makes it a challenge. am hoping to get some more soil ready this winter. i think old roses and brugs are great together.
