It was a BEAUTIFUL day for a RU!! So nice to meet new gardening friends and visit again with gardening friends you only get to see twice a year. Also fun to see some people we've not seen in a couple of years.
#1-Sybil (with her back turned), Deb, Smock, and Smockette on the right.
#2-Check in table with Carla (standing) and Sheila.
#3-Lots of people and plants
2013 Spring North Central Texas Round Up Picture Thread
Sorry we had to leave so early. I wish I could have met everyone!
Me too, next time I want to talk plants.
Cheryl
Thank you for starting this thread Stephanie, I am too tired to start one today.
We had a wonderful day, and we thank you all for coming, it was great to see old friends and meet the new ones.
Josephine.
This certainly was one of the busiest roundups that I have been to! I didn't get a chance to say much more than hello to most of you. My daughter had a good time, too, and says that she wants to come again next time so maybe we have a new convert.
I was actually IN Arlington down by old 6 Flags Mall. Didnt see being able to get The Beast parked up there though. It was a beautiful day!
We missed you Kittriana, hope you can join us in the fall.
Even tho I didn't go I love to look at the picture and see the faces. What beautiful weather you had.
Me too! It is always nice to see a face you can connect with a name you know only online!
THANK YOU all so very much for making my husband and I feel welcome, and for all the wonderful new plants!! Y'all are such a friendly bunch! I'm sorry that I didn't get around to meet everyone, but I look forward to fixing that at the fall roundup. Those that I did meet were so kind and I really enjoyed visiting with you!! Rick and I had a great time!
Unfortunately, often I don't remember people I have actually met. I get the face and voice, but rarely am able to hook to to the name for more than 5 min. Josephine, I am sorry you are tired. You did a lot of work.
Josephine/Sheila (Frank & Herman), thank you for hosting another wonderful roundup. It was nice to reconnect with old friends and meet new -- although even the "new" people feel like old friends after only a few minutes. I know it was a lot of work but your efforts are sincerely appreciated. It was a special day.
Carla (aka Loonie1)
I am so grateful for the plants and meeting all of you! We had such a good time yesterday and honestly I am like a kid in a candy store today going out and planting and planning. Thank you all so much for the plants! I even found a few surprises in my little bunch! My mind is just spinning with all the new faces and friends and ideas....BTW my puppies loved it too - of course today they are both laid out on the floor not budging! I told them I was going to go out and plant flowers and they started to get up and got as far as the porch then plopped down and took a nap again!
Thank you all for making us feel so welcome - Terry and I look at the plants and are just in awe!

RUs are the BEST!
Gang, next RU what do ya say about taking some of the load off Sheila and Josephine. Maybe exempt them from cooking at least. They rent the place for us, sign us in, do all the online work for us, bring extra stuff in case we forget, and probably a lot more that Im unaware of. Any suggestions?
Good idea!
Kitt, you should have spoken up! Someone would have come and got you and taken you back when you wanted to go back. Hate that we missed you.
Kitt, you sound like me pulling my horse trailer. My worst nightmare is to pull into a gas station where I think I can pull around the back, but can't. hahaha! Have to do some pretty wild maneuvering sometime.
I second the motion, Steadycam. Josephine, Sheila and their DHs shouldn't pay or cook. The rest of us can pitch in for them. We so appreciate what they do for us all.
Oooh..I can do that! I always worry that we won't have enough....Like that ever happens! We may run out of favorites, but there is always plenty of desserts! I am afraid that is what slowed me down this weekend. I didn't anticipate the time it would take to clean, cut and grill all the veggies. The ham was done in time easy.
I would gladly put my meal in the hands of DG cooks!
Well, don't cook much but I will be glad to take some time off. Thank you Marty for caring.
Great idea Marty! Sheila and Josephine, I really appreciate all the work that is involved in making sure everything runs so smooth. Please don't be shy to ask for help to set up, name tags etc. I will be happy to help next time around.
I think someone could make the signs that go on the tables and figure out a way to keep them from blowing away. That would be something Jo and Frank dont have to worry about. Just remember if you promise to do something, you must have checked and make sure you will be able to show up. It would probably be good if you promise to do something that you keep Jo and Sheila up to date on your status right up to the day of the RU. It wont help them if they have to continue to worry about it getting done.
