Is Medinilla pendula

Dearborn Heights, MI(Zone 6a)

How can you tell? (differences)

Also, Medinilla pendula is an 'unresolved name' on the Plant List, one of our reference sites.
http://www.theplantlist.org/tpl/record/tro-20303995
So I can't add pendula.
Thanks,
Sandy

Suggest you stop using The Plant List as it is a work in progress and it seems not much work is progressing. When they say M. pendula is an "unresolved name" I think they mean that they ( who ever "they" are) have simply not verified the name, which is utterly preposterous since it is a validly published name of long standing and does not need any further resolving.Another example of the confusing and misleading disinformation becoming evermore common on the internet.M.pendula is probably the most common species in cultivation and despite being one of the most distinctive is almost invariably misidentified usually as Medinilla "myriantha" which is a synonym of a species M.multiflora a totally different species and rare in cultivation. M.pendula is easily recognised by its whorled, relatively small petiolate leaves, terete stems and terminal pendulous inflorescences.
Suggest in future you use IPNI rather than the unsatisfactory Plant List

Dearborn Heights, MI(Zone 6a)

I am told to use The Plant List, and IPNI, KEW and a few others. Since you are so knowledgeable in this area, why not add a new plant Medinilla pendula?
We are volunteers, no pay.
There are only a few 'experts' working on the error reports, sometimes complicated error reports
take a while to resolve. (I see you commented on a few other images of various Medinilla)
I think I know who can try to sort this out, I will notify them and hopefully it will be resolved.

Sandy

First time I have posted here - just browsed the Medinilla posts and the majority were misnamed.
