Hi OldNed - only for the New World populations, now split as Gallinula galeata. Still Common Moorhen for Old World Gallinula chloropus, as in this bird in Spain.

Yep this sure is a Common Moorhen! Those are one of my favorite birds! I think that they are just lovely! I just love that red patch on their head and beaks! They take great reflection photos!
